Наверно, это потому, что у испанцев уже были морские технологии: строительство кораблей, ориентирование в отрытом море, etc.

Тур Хейердал доказал, что доплыть из Юж.Америки до островов Океании ВОЗМОЖНО. Но не доказал, что именно так оно и было.
